A second in our life can change everything. A single moment that we never forget, or a memory of an exact happening in time and space that echoes through eternity. The word moment means exactly that, something that happens in a certain way, with a certain timing and your brain retains it forever.
When we go back in our memories, we probably don’t remember everything. We do remember frames of outlined events that occurred in the past.

The information retained in our brain can be good, bad, happy, sad, etc, it’s a reflection of our life as humans. Those memories build up our personality and character. We can be affected by them every time that we remember about a determined occurrence, transporting us for that exact second when that happened.
Imagine that our brain is composed by files. Those files need to be subdivided by themes and a picture is automatically associated to those themes. After research our brain, our instinct allows us access to the exact file that we associate to a passed event.

Hoping for a full contract is, in the majority of cases the life of a dancer. In general dance jobs are overload, every year directors of companies receive over 500 applications for auditions, classes or private auditions. Most dancers send applications for every single company that announces a free contract expecting to be accepted and allowed to show their work.
A fair amount of dancers think that there is no life beside a company contract, and mostly because of the world that we are inserted. From ballet school to professional world, we are engaged in getting a full time contract. It’s not right or wrong, it’s the way it is, that’s how dance is formatted.

And if my purpose as a dancer is to explore and own my time? And if I want to teach, choreograph and share my personal knowledge? Can i become a freelance dancer?
All of that it’s possible, depending on your passion and expectations.
Freelancing in dance is intense. Lifestyle can be hard, sometimes draining, perhaps not for everyone, but at the same time, it allows you to be your own boss, to choose what you dance and with whom, and to become an even more artistically challenged and charged dancer.
In the end, we are all different, depending on who we are, or who we want to become, we should decide to chase our dream emphasizing our happiness.
